Design approach
Good lighting is layers, not lumens. A facade graze here, a path marker there, planting lit from within rather than blasted from above, and darkness left where darkness earns its place. We design in layers with the fittings hidden and the effect visible, at colour temperatures that flatter timber, brick and garden rather than turning them grey. The goal is a space that reads as calm at 10pm, not a stadium.
Coastal-rated fittings and durability
The Shore is a marine environment, and lighting hardware lives outside in it. Cheap fittings pit, corrode and fail within a couple of winters on exposed sites. We specify coastal-rated fittings, proper IP ratings, stainless and marine-grade finishes where the salt reaches, and we install them so water goes where water should. Fit it once, properly.
Renovation and new-build lighting plans
The cheapest moment to light a home properly is while the walls are open. If you are renovating or building, we produce a lighting plan alongside the general electrical design: circuits, switching, control and fitting schedule as one drawing. For established homes and gardens, low-voltage runs retrofit well and we route them around what you have grown, not through it.
Control and dimming
Layered lighting needs control: scenes, dimming, and timers that mean the garden lights are not burning at 3am. We keep the control system as simple as the brief allows and wire it on properly protected circuits, with the switchboard capacity to match. If the board needs work to carry it, we upgrade that too. Every installation is certified in-house by our own Registered Electrical Inspector and carries a 12 month workmanship guarantee.
